Webster Industries, Inc., an industry leader in conveyor chain, sprockets and vibrating equipment, is pleased to announce the hire of Ron Ott to Director of Technical Services. Ott’s experience in consulting Lean techniques, quality control and best practices make him an excellent fit for this role.

He will be accountable for being a driving force of innovation and improvement regarding Webster’s manufacturing system. Implementing quality control efforts to ensure that requirements for processing components, and other materials into finished goods and products conform to quality standards is another responsibility of this role. He will work hard to find opportunities for innovation in material requirements of products and partner with Engineering and Supply Chain to determine if suitable material substitutes or product design changes are warranted.

Ott started his career working in the automotive industry and held a variety of roles throughout his career that includes Senior Process 

Engineering Technician, Process Engineer, Continuous Improvement Administrator and President & COO. Later in his career, Ott went on to consult and train various organizations in systems thinking and best practices. His value stream mapping and Six Sigma training has generated over $50M in actualized savings. Ott has also spent a portion of his career teaching at the collegiate level. He has taught several Engineering classes at the University of Toledo.

Ott holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo.
