TIFFIN, Ohio – Webster Industries, Inc., an industry leader in conveyor chain, sprockets and vibrating equipment, is pleased to announce the addition of a highly skilled leader, Chris Baker, to our team as the new Shop Supervisor for the 2nd shift. Bringing over 25 years of military service as a retired US Army Combat Infantry leader, instructor, and recruiter, Chris has served in roles ranging from Special Duty with the 3rd United States Infantry at Arlington National Cemetery to supervising production teams in the manufacturing sector. He recently held the position of Production Supervisor at Diamond Wipes in Bucyrus, where he led a team of 30 employees in producing sanitizing wipes, achieving company-wide production records during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his prior role at Union Tank Car (UTLX), Chris supervised a team responsible for government-mandated repairs on rail tank cars carrying hazardous materials, using his extensive experience in military operations, time management, and quality assurance to guide and develop his team effectively.
Chris holds an Associate’s degree in Military Professional Development from Central Texas College and has completed additional training in Lean Manufacturing, process improvement, and continuous improvement, bringing a wealth of technical expertise and leadership skills to our operations. His military commendations including, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Medal, reflect his dedication and commitment.
In his new role, Chris will oversee our shop employees, plan and assign work, and support continuous improvement in all areas, balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and employee morale. His demonstrated leadership, problem-solving abilities, and drive for results align with our core values of a “Can Do” approach, doing what’s right, respecting others, and demonstrating everyday grit.
