TIFFIN, Ohio – Webster Industries, Inc., an industry leader in conveyer chain, sprockets, and vibratory equipment, is delighted to announce that Zach Young has been promoted to Shop Supervisor.
Young has been an integral part of our team since July 2017, demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication in his role as a CNC Machinist and Group Leader at Webster Industries.
Young brings a wealth of experience in operating grinders, lathes, and various CNC machines in fast-paced production and maintenance environments. He has proven himself to be dependable and reliable, with expertise in monitoring telemetry, changing out tooling, and loading materials. His proficiency in machine set up, large lathe operation, safety and compliance, and time management has consistently met and exceeded our daily production goals. Throughout his career, he has excelled in operating and maintaining production equipment, setting up and operating CNC machining centers, reading and interpreting blueprints, maintaining tight tolerances, and training new team members on proper machine set-up procedures.
Previous Experience includes working as a Warehouse Picker at Seneca Medical Inc., Tiffin, OH, where he excelled in inspecting shipments, preparing orders, and operating a standup forklift.
In his new role as Shop Supervisor, Young will be responsible for supervising 3rd Shift shop employees. His primary duties will include planning and assigning work, enforcing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
Key responsibilities will involve ensuring effective employee relations, balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results, managing departmental performance measures, and providing regular progress reports. Young will also assist in tracking prioritized work with production planning and sales, communicate with all departments to meet customer demands, maintain proper inventory levels, manage department priorities, and approve daily employee time and labor.
Young’s leadership skills, problem-solving ability, and results-driven approach make him an ideal fit for this role. We are confident that his technical capacity, communication proficiency, and commitment to continuous improvement will significantly contribute to the success of the 3rd shift production team.
